Exodus Chapter 33

The words of Moses were given to him in the most direct manner possible. This makes the words of Moses weightier than those of any other prophet.
Yeshua Himself said that the Words of Moses are the most important and convincing of all (Luke 16:31). To deny Torah is to deny the most direct Words and Instructions of Elohim.

Romans Chapter 9

This is a familiar expression for Paul (2 Cor. 11:31, Gal. 1:20). He is emphatic in what he knows to be true. This section of Romans doesn’t deal as much with the beautiful, lofty, and comforting doctrine of obedience to Torah that was dealt with in the previous chapters. Paul left chapter 8 telling us that absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of Messiah Yeshua. It seems now that Paul is going to fall into a deep depression. I think he does, to an extent. Paul is now going to discuss the sadness he has over the fact that most “Israelites according to the flesh” (his words) rejected the New Covenant offered to them through Yeshua Messiah.

Matthew Chapter 14

Herod was paranoid concerning the death of John the Baptist. Herod thought that this Yeshua was John the Baptist back from the dead. Possibly he felt that John was coming back from the dead to get him. We now have a historic interlude while Matthew catches us up on what exactly happened to John and why.
